Greetings,

This is Tower of God: Great Journey Team.


First, we appreciate our players who always support and love Tower of God: Great Journey.


We would like to introduce the development direction of upcoming March to May in this Developer’s Note.


We will introduce what has been confirmed and to be updated based on the development progress, but please understand that some contents that require long-term prospective and that are still in development would be difficult to introduce in detail or could be changed after additional consideration.


Also we are looking through feedback you’ve sent to us thoroughly and we will try to listen to your opinions and apply them as much as possible.


Then please check the detailed developer’s note below.

Shinsu Shape

The first thing we’d like to introduce is what will be improved in Shinsu Shape.

Recently, we added Grade Growth, Succeed an Option and Convert an Option so that you can upgrade acquired Shinsu Shape, and the Hidden Floor in Tower of Challenge so that you can get Shinsu Reactant and Shinsu Shape Train Stone.


We also checked you have acquired Shinsu Shape and upgraded them more actively than before, and additionally reinforced your team by utilizing various Shinsu Shape options through converting the option.


However, we found that the effect of a specific option was having a greater impact on the game than intended, which was a phenomenon in which the growth experience accumulated so far could be relatively different due to the presence or absence of the option. In particular, the difficulty of obtaining this option was so high that it was difficult to obtain even by consuming a large number of training stones, and the luck factor and limited number of attempts combined to have a greater impact in the game. 


However, if a direct change in the figure and probability of the option is made, the effort for acquiring the option, sense of achievement, and value of the item may change significantly for the players who have already activated the option, so we reviewed the changes very carefully to alleviate the phenomenon in a way that would satisfy everyone as much as possible.


Accordingly, our team is not directly changing the figures and probability of the current Shinsu Shape options, but is reviewing a system that can increase the grade with a certain probability while adding other options that can replace the option. As a result, we hope our players will have more diverse options to choose from and will be able to get legendary options quickly by utilizing the grade increase system.

Contents & System

The second we’d like to introduce is about ingame contents and systems.

Current Tower of God: Great Journey has various regular contents and seasonal contents.

Among these, especially in the case of regular content, we would like to make the following changes so that the connection points between each content and character can be circulated beyond what was initially intended.


■ Administrator’s Trial: Expanded Difficulty

In the case of the Administrator's Trial, at this point in time when the growth level of the players has been leveled upward, most of the characters and bosses are operating as content that simply deals a lot of damage within a period of time without dying. Accordingly, in fact, tanks and supports focusing on high healing were not used well, and dealer characters that could inflict the most damage and decks that supported those characters were used as the main characters. These caused lack of experience of attacking bosses at limited difficulty and growth feedback.


So we would like to add a difficulty system to the Administrator's Trial. This is to allow players to challenge themselves at an appropriate difficulty level suited to their power, so that they can more directly experience the sense of achievement of earning rewards and growth for each difficulty level.


In addition, we would like to provide feedback and experience by changing the structure to allow you to defeat the Administrator bosses that were not previously defeated, so that you can attack bosses more intuitively than before.

If you defeat the Administrator boss, you will be able to challenge the next difficulty level, and the players who have reached the highest difficulty level will be given points and rankings based on the time they were defeated.


Also, the administrator's trials that will be changed will have stronger damage at higher difficulties. As a result, we expect that the importance of tanks and supports will increase to increase team stability in the existing structure that focuses only on dealing, and we expect that new strategies will emerge as various gimmicks are added to boss patterns.


■ God’s Inventory

<Expanded the collection of God’s Inventory>

The difficulty of acquiring Legendary gear and the supply of craft materials have been eased, and the overall growth level of players has increased, confirming that many players' God’s Inventory registration rates have increased. Accordingly, our team decided that it was time to further expand God's Inventory, and T1 Legendary gears will be added to God's Inventory.


<Ensured Collection in God’s Inventory>

Currently the game has upgrade hammers for each grade, but transcendence has to be done separately, which is a bit cumbersome. So as God's Inventory collection items are expanded, ensured collection items will be updated so that players can register more conveniently. The item will help to upgrade and transcend the selected item immediately and will be acquired through content, stores, events, etc.


<Improved God’s Inventory Upgrade Material>

Upgrading God's Inventory is currently structured by consuming random materials every day. Upgrade materials appeared randomly every day and the number of upgrade times was limited, so even if insufficient items appeared as upgrade materials, situations often occurred where insufficient materials had to be consumed to upgrade the level. And the number of daily growths was limited, so when there was a delay in upgrading, stress occurred frequently. Therefore, we want to change it to a fixed material and remove the count limit. After improvement, we expect you to be able to compare the owned material items you currently have and upgrade the level as much as you want.


<Increased the Maximum Upgrade Level of God’s Inventory>

For certain players, God Inventory upgrade level is now reaching its maximum, and if the upgrade materials mentioned above are improved, we expect that the upgrade level of all players overall will increase significantly. Accordingly, the maximum upgrade level will also be expanded. However, in the case of expanded upgrade levels, new materials that can be obtained from the expanded Floor of Hardship will be required for additional growth in order to connect between contents. This will be discussed in detail in ‘Floor of Hardship’ below.


■ Floor of Hardship

The content of the Floor of Hardship which is conquered by forming a team for each faction operates so that the characters of the faction can be used directly. The characters of the faction can be used and available to obtain the corresponding faction's reward such as Fate Gifts and Bookmarks that help to upgrade the faction.


However, some players have already reached the highest Fate and Fate skill level and they can be supplied through other content, so the content's intention of 'strengthening the faction by using the characters of that faction' has been somewhat weakened. Also, compared to 'God's Inventory', which directly grants stats to each faction, it has the same growth element of 'upgrading each faction', but the direct connection between the two contents was lacking.


Thus, a new item will be added to create a connection between the two contents, 'God's Inventory' and 'Floor of Hardship' while meeting the intention of strengthening the faction by using the characters of the faction.


The new item will be required to increase the expanded upgrade level of God's Inventory and will be able to get from the expanded Floor of Hardship. More powerful enemies will appear in the expanded Floor of Hardship, and the maximum number of teammates will be increased from 5 to 6 so that a team composed with one faction can clear it.


■ Album System

As well as Epic characters, there were many unfortunate situations for Legendary characters such as being pushed down in priority due to a strategy when forming a team, even though you worked hard to summon them. We are continuously working on balance patches so that Legendary characters that have recently been underused can be fully utilized. However, apart from that, we would like to add an album system so that those who have already recruited characters, or just recruiting them, can be helpful to the team.


In the case of the album system, additional stats will be granted depending on the possession of certain characters and their Transcendence/Awakening/Revolution stage, etc. Now, just collecting the characters you want can be enough to help the team, reducing stress in this area. We look forward to being able to summon teammates and form a team without any pressure.


■ Guardian Boss Raid

Although the Guardian Boss Raid requires high levels of fatigue every day, many opinions on improving actual content have been confirmed due to the low expected value of rewards.

It was intended to be a content where you can conquer together with help from family members and friends, but as the overall growth level of players increases, it is often possible to conquer without much help. On the other hand, they summon the Guardian Boss in succession and ask for help too frequently, so it was confirmed that there was also fatigue from family members and friends providing help.


Our team wants to reduce unnecessary fatigue with this content and improve the intent and rewards of the content to be more meaningful.


First, we would like to change the structure from a regular content with no restrictions to weekly content. Previously, as long as you had the key, you could continuously consume it at any time, which required constant fatigue. However, after the improvement, it will be improved as you can attack the Guardian Boss you want on a weekly basis according to your growth level.


Also, if the help of existing family members and friends required playable help, after improvement, we would like to allow specific characters registered by family members and friends to be used as mercenaries. As a result, we expect that those providing help will be able to provide help easily without unnecessary fatigue, and that those receiving help will also be able to use the system without burden.


Lastly, a weekly final Guardian Boss will also be added to provide additional feedback, especially for the top rankers. If you clear at least four types of weekly Guardian Bosses to the final stage, the final boss will appear and your score and ranking will be reflected based on the damage you inflict on that boss.


■ Gold Shop

Gold is currently required for most contents and is the most consumed commodity. However, as the growth level of many players has increased significantly, we found that Golds are gradually accumulating rather than being consumed continuously from a certain point in time. So our team is preparing a Gold Shop so that you can consume Golds you are currently accumulating. In the case of the Gold Shop, we plan to open it periodically during a certain period of time, and we hope that this will allow you to exchange Gold you currently have for various items and use the accumulated Gold in a more meaningful way.

Ancient Selective Summon & New Legendary Character

Last but not least, we’d like to introduce Ancient Selective Summon and a new Legendary character.


First, only a newly introduced Ancient character was initially available with the current Ancient Pass system. We had improved Ancient Pass when ‘Ravaged Throne White’ was updated to allow the players who haven’t acquired previously updated Ancient Characters to select an Ancient character who they want and progress the Ancient Pass.


After the improvement, players were able to acquire past Ancient characters, but two new problems emerged. The first is the phenomenon of focusing on old Ancient characters rather than new Ancient characters. Our team prepared a new story and the charm of the character unique to 'Ravaged Throne White', but we found that the rate of people choosing past Ancient characters before it was even revealed was higher than expected.


The second is that ultimately acquiring an Ancient character requires a lot of physical time, and if you fail to acquire an Ancient character once, the acquisition of various Ancient characters may be delayed.


The current Ancient Pass runs for two months and then takes a break of about 1 to 2 months before the next Ancient Pass. In other words, it was possible to acquire one Ancient character for about 4 months, and in line with the first problem, the players who had to select past Ancient characters were ultimately unable to check the story unique to the newly released Ancient character.


So our team would like to improve Ancient Pass to a way that when a new Ancient character is released, Ancient Pass will proceed with a new Ancient character title, but you can freely change to another Ancient character you want to summon. As a result, we have created an environment where you can basically focus on a new Ancient character, and we look forward to meeting not only a new Ancient character but also past Ancient characters. We are also reviewing the direction of providing additional related passes in addition to the existing Ancient Pass, so we ask for your interest and expectations.


■ New Legendary Character [Baylord Yama]


A new Legendary character, Baylord Yama will be updated on April 2nd.

■ Preview of New Ancient Character

In April, one of the Tower’s strongest will come in Tower of God: Great Journey.




We have introduced new features and improvements that our team is currently working on focusing on the March-May update goals. 

However, we still have many issues under consideration so we feel regretful they are not informed in this developer’s note.


We will carefully review every issue that we are concerned about and will do our best to introduce you in the future.

So our team would like to improve Ancient Pass to a way that when a new Ancient character is released, Ancient Pass will proceed with a new Ancient character title, but you can freely change to another Ancient character you want to summon. As a result, we have created an environment where you can basically focus on a new Ancient character, and we look forward to meeting not only a new Ancient character but also past Ancient characters. We are also reviewing the direction of providing additional related passes in addition to the existing Ancient Pass, so we ask for your interest and expectations.

■ Preview of New Ancient Character

In April, one of the Tower’s strongest will come in Tower of God: Great Journey.




We have introduced new features and improvements that our team is currently working on focusing on the March-May update goals. 

However, we still have many issues under consideration so we feel regretful they are not informed in this developer’s note.


We will carefully review every issue that we are concerned about and will do our best to introduce you in the future.
